· The Objectives of the Association is to further the good fellowship and ‘esprit de corps’ of Gunnery Instructors and Above Water Warfare Senior Rates, in the best traditions of the service. To further the welfare and aid of members. To provide entertainment of a social and recreational nature.
· The Association quarters are based at Building 17, Quarterdeck Avenue, HMS Excellent, Whale Island, Portsmouth, Hampshire. PO2 8ER
· The Membership is open to all ex-serving Gunnery Instructors of whatever rank or rating. To all serving and ex-serving Gunnery, AWW or Missile Senior rates and to Leading Seaman (AWW) on qualifying. There is also a limited Social Membership open to those who have benefited the Association by their services or support.
The Association is administered by a President who is a serving Senior Rate or Warrant Officer, they are elected by nomination. The are aided by a Vice President who may be a serving or ex-serving member. They are assisted by a committee of several members accountable for specific tasks who are all elected by nomination.
The President's Charity of 2025 - Veterans Outreach Support - (VOS) offers Welfare, Wellbeing and Clinical provision to UK Armed Forces & Merchant Navy Veterans, as well as to spouses/partners.
In addition to running monthly Drop-In facilities, they organise wellbeing activities throughout the month and enable access to bespoke welfare

VOS is an Armed Forces Covenant Employer. They support and encourage service spouses, veterans and reservists in the workplace, throughout Portsmouth, the Isle of Wight, Gosport, Fareham, and more widely, Hampshire and the south of England.
We are going to do our best to support them towards these goals for the duration of our time together.
The Association meets monthly (usually on the first Wednesday) at 1930. The Association aims to hold three annual ‘Black Tie’ events - Annual Dinner, Burns night and Pickle night and minor events as required.
